Annual dinner 2018
The annual meeting of the Circle of Friends of the Hippocrene Foundation brought together 150 donors, partners and friends. It was held this year at Pavillon Dauphine Saint Clair, built in 1878 on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition; it was redesigned and renovated only recently. While enjoying a welcome cocktail, the Friends of the Foundation were able to attend an exchange introduced by Jimmy Roze (President of the Circle of Friends), led by Nora Hamadi (journalist specialising in European issues and jury member of the Young Europeans Award) then concluded by Anne-Dominique Merville (vice-president of the Circle of Friends). Beatrice Angrand, Markus Ingenlath (Secretaries General of the Franco-German Office for Youth) and Michèle Guyot-Roze (Vice-President of the Hippocrene Foundation) shared their experiences of the Young Europeans Award, which includes Germany, Poland and France (Weimar Triangle). The guests had the pleasure of hearing poems at the end of the dinner recited by Cyrielle Clair (actress) and Richard Flahaut of La Billarderie (Honorary Curator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Then everyone took to the floor to dance to the pulsing rhythms of Charly’s Angels. The whole evening was judged a resounding success by one and all. We hope to rise to the challenge again next year.
