From 8 to 15 April 2017 in Lyon, “Imagine l’Europe” represents an encounter between 30 participants aged 18 to 30, confronted with different cultural and social realities in everyday life, from Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, France and Greece. Among them, young people with fewer opportunities, facing social, economic or geographic barriers, students, young professionals and the unemployed, etc. During this week, various activities will be proposed in order to reflect together, discuss and express themselves (including artistically), especially regarding the common challenge of integrating migrants for the European Union and on a future Europe as they imagine it. The “Imagine l’Europe” project was born out of the context of young people (18-35) with little interest in European Union policy, reflected in the high abstention rate in the last European elections in 2014. The rise of extremism in national elections, and in general, euroscepticism, are also decisive factors for initiation of this project.
